H. Russell Hayes or Rusty as his friends call him was born on a farm in rural South Carolina in 1976. In 2001, he graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelors in Writing, Linguistics and Marketing. Among many of the groups he joined while in school, he loved participating in the GSU Weight Lifting Club where he became Vice President. He enjoys hunting, fishing, reading, cycling and cooking.

Over the last 15 years Rusty has been in several stage plays in his community and while attending GSU. He published an adult work of fiction titled It’s a Pot Luck Life in June 2011. The new project on his desk is a Children’s Book series titled Forest Friends. The first volume, Mickey Finds His Song, is complete and up for publication.
