Author: Jessica Watson

My name is Jessica Watson and I currently live in Bangkok, Thailand where I teach English to children. For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by the world outside my bubble and eager to learn about other cultures. I spent a lot my childhood with nose in history books and magazines like National Geographic. At 16, I got my first experience traveling abroad to Scotland and I knew it wouldn’t be my last!

I studied Anthropology at Franklin Pierce University(USA) and spent a semester abroad living and studying in Vienna, Austria and spent my time travelling to other European cities including Paris, Rome, Budapest and Munich. I really enjoyed living abroad and had no desire to work in an office from 9-5, so after graduating university, I decided to get my TEFL certificate and teach English abroad, choosing Thailand as my first stop!

I have lived in Bangkok for a little over 9 months now and have spent my time, aside from teaching of course, exploring Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and the rest of S.E. Asia. I’m smitten by S.E. Asia and just as I realized years ago, I love living abroad and I plan on using my TEFL certificate to live and work in a variety of different countries!

I love photography and capturing candid shots of the culture of the country I am visiting. I also enjoying trying all the delicious vegetarian food that every country has to offer and tracking down the most exotic fruits, including my favorite, durian!
