Author: Devon Jaffe-Urell

Devon Jaffe-Urell grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and ignited an early love for travel through frequent trips to her British father’s family and homeland. During college, Devon escaped rainy Portland, Oregon to study in East Africa for a semester, where she lived with a Masai family, studied marine biology while snorkeling off the coast of Tanzania, spent a month on safari and strengthened her stomach for future travels. Devon finished college and, eager to get on the road again, promptly took off with a friend for six months on a round the world ticket and a loose itinerary, traipsing through parts of South America, Africa and Asia. Now back in the Bay Area, Devon works for a nonprofit that connects volunteers with orphanages around the world; she has since traveled to Nepal to research orphanages (and trek through the Annapurna region of the Himalayas). Although she loves to continue exploring the best of San Francisco (mostly food and wine), Devon’s number one goal is to always keep her age lower than the number of countries she’s visited.
